Geography Lapbook

Caleb's Idaho Lapbook.
This was finished back in February. He loved learning more about this state. He would love to go back and visit where we use to live, and see the hospital of where he was born. If you ask him what is the best state in the United States, he would tell you Idaho!
1. Learned that LOTS of potatoes come from ID
2. ID = Idaho
3. Their state bird, is the Mountain Blue Bird
4. State Capital is Boise
5. State Butterfly is the Monarch Butterfly

St Patrick's Day Unit Study = Service

Does anyone really know why we celebrate this holiday? It is actually a GREAT holiday with a GREAT meaning! Unfortunately it doesn't get the right view and appreciation as it should. St Patrick was a great person, with a wonderful devotion to do the work of God. Why and How drinking Beer came along with his holiday is far far far from the direction of what his holiday is truly ALL about. Here, let my kids tell you about it.......
1. A boy named Maewyn Succat was born in England, in 389.
2. He was kidnapped when he was 16, and taken to Ireland.
3. Had a vision from God, which helped him to escape.
4. Returned back to Britain, had another vision which lead him to become a Christian Missionary.
5. Gave himself an English name as Patrick, went back to Ireland to teach about God. Using the Shamrock to explain and teach about the God head, three leaves, three people, God the Father, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.
6. In which we celebrate on March 17 because it is the day he died. With hope that we remember the great service that he did, and all that we can do too, as Christians. And NOT to just sit around drinking beer, wasting time doing absolutely nothing. But to be anxiously involved in doing good, serving our fellowmen.

HAPPY ST. Patrick's Day! Now go on and serve someone today............ =)

Dolphin Fun Lapbook

Here is Liahona's Fun Lapbook for the Month of February. She has learned many new things about these fabulous creatures.
1. Dolphins are mammals.
2. Dolphins use echolocation to find food, and to learn about dangers under the water.
3. River Dolphins are pink because the eat shrimp and crabs.
4. River Dolphins are friendly and will not harm humans.
5. Decided that she would like to swim with dolphins when she gets older.

Elephant Fun Lapbook

This is Caleb's Fun Lapbook for the month of February.
He learned lots of great facts and fun information about these amazing mammals.
1. Elephants are mammals.
2. Mammals are creatures that have hair, are warm blooded, and give birth to live babies.
3. Asian and African Elephants are very different.
4. Elephants can get sun burnt.
5. Elephants communicate through the vibrations they send by stomping on the ground with their feet.

President's Day Unit Study

This is our Unit Study Lapbook about our 1st President of the United States, George Washington. The Kids really enjoyed learning and understanding about how great this man was, and what a great leader he was for our Country.
Top things learned:
1. Was always honest, even when he was a boy "The Cherry Tree" story.
2. Was 20 years old when he fought in his first war.
3. Fought in many wars.
4. Was our 1st President of the United States of America.
